Figure skating teaching professionals would be happy to assist you with private lessons. Please feel free to contact them directly, as they are the stewards of their private lesson schedules and lesson rates.
Skaters will need to pay the appropriate admission fees for ice time and skate rental at the front desk and pay the professional directly for their private lessons. Rates will vary by instructor.
All guest coaches must be pre-approved by the Figure Skating Director prior to teaching on Chiller sessions. Guest coaches must submit: Proof of liability insurance, PSA Membership & USFS registration. Intended teaching schedule must be emailed to the director prior to the session. Guest coaches will pre-purchase ice time online and check in at the front desk before taking the ice. Chiller Ice Rinks reserves the right to deny teaching privileges at their discretion.

Ashley Brancaleone was a 3-time Team USA Member in Synchronized Skating with the Dearborn Crystallettes. As a synchronized skater from 1998-2009, she has earned many National medals and has international competition experience. Ashley currently coaches the Chiller Synchro Aspire Preliminary and Open Adult teams. She has been coaching skaters in basic skills, MIF, dance, power skating and hockey skills since 2006 in both Michigan and Ohio. Ashley has passed her USFS Gold MIF, Dances and Pre-Juvenile FS. She holds a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Central Michigan University.

Michele has been coaching all ages from LTS Basic Skills through Novice freestyle since 1984. She started her coaching career at the Ice Capades Chalet. From there, Michele moved on to The Dorothy Hamill Skating Centre where she was a coach and Skating School Manager for 13 years. In 2000, Michele began teaching at Chiller Ice Rinks and was a Skating School Manager at the North location for 10 years. Michele has passed her USFS Novice Figures and Freestyle tests.

Kelly is a US Figure Skating Gold Medalist in Freestyle and has been coaching for over 25 years. Previous to starting her coaching career she toured with Holiday on Ice in Europe and Mexico. Coaching highlights include the 2020 Juvenile Midwestern Sectional Champion, 2022 Junior Grand Prix Poland competitor, 2023 Juvenile Sectional competitor, numerous Regional Championship medalists, and multiple US Figure Skating Gold Medalists in Freestyle and Moves in the Field. She is also a previous member of the Program Development Committee for US Figure Skating.

David Ings has devoted his entire life to the sport and art form of skating. He is a 4-time Scottish Senior Men’s Champion and 3-time British Senior Men’s bronze medalist. He was also a reserve member of the British Olympic team for the Winter Olympic Games in 1992 and 1994. David received his Gold Star in free skating, the highest standard possible in Great Britain. He began coaching in 1995 and then in 1997 joined shows and skated as a principal skater in many renowned professional ice shows around the world up until 2009. David moved to the United States in 2010 and worked for 5 years at the Wollman Rink in Central Park and at Chelsea Piers in NYC and as a guest coach throughout the tristate area. He moved to Columbus, Ohio, in 2016 and began coaching at all Chiller locations. In 2019 and 2020 he was coach to a Midwestern sectionals Intermediate Ladies competitor who ranked high enough to be invited to the USFSA training camp. David has been coaching for 26 years and teaches all aspects of skating including figure and hockey from the beginner levels to Senior and Professional. He also offers pole harness lessons.

Kristen Izzie is a Master Rated Figure Skating Coach with thirty years of teaching experience. Having personally passed the USFSA Gold Figure and Gold Freestyle tests, she possesses a depth of fundamental skating mechanics rarely held today. Her knowledge of technique complimented by her warm and succinct communication style have earned her students over 20+ Gold USFSA Tests. In addition to being Master Technician of skating fundamentals to triple jumps, Kristen is also a gifted choreographer. She creates exceptional programs for her students by uniquely designing programs to showcase their individual strengths and personalities. Kristen was selected and served for fifteen years as the Artistic Director of Skate for Hope, a charity figure skating show that raised over $600,000 for cancer research. Kristen then went onto to co-found and serve as the Artistic Director of Skate It Forward, another phenomenal charity show that provides support for the Ronald McDonald House. From first-time skaters to Olympians, Kristen meets each her of athletes where they are and develops a personal plan to help them achieve their goals and dreams.

Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, Tera Kelner has been a part of Ohio's skating and hockey community for over 25 years. She coaches recreational and competitive skaters alike and testing figure skaters of all levels. Tera has led skaters to achieve Gold Level Skating Skills (previously Moves in the Field) and earn a spot on the Miami University Varsity Synchronized Skating team. She enjoys attending clinics and seminars that further her knowledge of the sport. As a Chiller Learn to Skate manager since 2013, Tera holds US Ice Rinks certificates for Skating Director and Programming, Marketing, and Promotions. Svetlana is a USSR Master of Sport. She has been coaching beginner level through elite skaters for 32 years. During that time, Svetlana has coached 40 skaters at the Eastern Great Lakes Regional Championships with many of them qualifying for the Midwestern Sectional Championships and Junior Nationals. Her skaters have won over 15 medals, many of them gold. In 2021, Svetlana coached a member of the USA Development Team in the Intermediate and Novice level. She coached the 2022 Argentinian Junior Ladies National Champion who also participated in the 2022 Junior Grand Prix in Gdansk Poland. Svetlana has coached over 50 skaters through Senior Moves in the Field and Freestyle tests.

Valérie Marcoux-Pavlas is a 2006 Olympic Team member, 5 time Canadian World team member, 3 time Canadian Pair Champion, 7 year Grand Prix Participant, and 7 time Canadian National Team Member. She is a 5 time Bronze medalist in the Grand Prix Circuit and qualified for the 2007 Grand Prix Final. Since (year), Valerie has coached all levels of skaters from beginner to gold in testing and elite competition. With over 21 years of elite coaching experience, Valérie has produced 6 Eastern Great Lake Regional Champions, 18 Eastern Great Lake Regional medalists, and the 2019 Midwestern Sectional Pewter Medalist. She has coached 21 skaters to Midwestern Sectionals, 2 Jr National Competitors and a US national competitor. Valérie was the 2020 PSA President’s Award of Excellence Recipient–given to exceptional grassroots coaches, in all disciplines for their positive contributions to the sport of figure skating. As a hockey power skating skills coach, Valérie has taught players of all ages and abilities, ranging from the Learn to Play level and house to AAA, Junior and NHL levels. Megan McKinley hails from Edina, Minnesota and has skated for Team Braemar (1990-1999) and Miami University’s Collegiate Team (1999-2002). She served as the Assistant Director of Figure Skating at Miami University. She has coached the Oxford Ice Crystals (2001-2006), Team Chiller (2006-2007) and The Ohio State University Synchronized Skating Team (2007-2018). In addition to her competitive and coaching accomplishments she trained alongside Michelle Kwan and performed with Scott Hamilton, Brian Boitano and Nancy Kerrigan. Her passion for teaching extends off the ice as well. She is a certified yoga instructor and teaches for Lululemon Athletica. She has her Master’s Degree in Sport Psychology from Miami University.

Chris Miller hails from San Diego, California and is a U.S Figure Skating Gold medalist (Southwest Regional Champion and a Pacific Coast sectionals competitor). He has skated and toured in several ice shows around the world including Disney On Ice, Holiday On Ice, Kings Island OH (Snoopy Rocks), Busch Gardens Tampa FL (Christmas On Ice), Sea World Orlando FL (Winter Wonderland On Ice ) and Phantasialand in Germany. Jessica has been teaching in the Columbus area for over 25 years and is a PSA Master rated coach in multiple disciplines. She has coached competitors at the Eastern Great Lakes Regionals, Midwestern Sectionals, and Junior Olympics. Jessica has consistently guided skaters through USFS Gold and International Dances, Senior Partnered, and Solo Free Dance, Senior Moves In the Field, and Senior Freestyle. She is currently the Daytime LTS manager and Private Lesson Coordinator for The Chiller. In the past, Jessica has taught PE classes for The Ohio State University, coached synchronized skating, and directed local ice shows. As a skater, she completed her USFS Gold medal in Figures, Freestyle, Ice Dance, and Free Dance, as well as her International Dances, Canadian Gold Dances, ISI Figure 10, and Dance 10.

Celeste has been skating since 2005 both individually and more recently also in synchro and in a duet. Tatiana is a Master of Sport in International Class and a Soviet and Russian National team member. She participated in the Grand Prix Championships from 1990-1993. In 1992, Tatiana was a participant in the European Championships, World Championships and the Winter Olympic Games. She was a principal skater in "Walt Disney's World on Ice.” Tatiana has coached many skaters at the Regional and Sectional Championships. Her skater qualified for the US Nationals in 2002 and won silver medal in the Juvenile level.

Rina Saji has been teaching group lessons since 2011 and private lessons since 2015. With over 10 years of group lesson experience, she specializes in developing basic skill level skaters as well as fundamentals in hockey skating skills. For hockey, Rina has coached skaters from the basic skills level to the AAA level. Rina has passed her Senior/Gold level tests in MIF, FS, and Dance through USFSA. She is also currently a board member of the Columbus FSC.

Annette is a three-time Midwestern Sectional medalist in Ice Dance. She coached Junior Olympic competitors in Freestyle and Ice Dance. She has had 14 Solo Dance competitors qualify for Nationals resulting in 8 National medals including Gold, Silver and Pewter. Annette has worked with Regional, Sectional and National freestyle competitors which includes 30+ medalists at the Juvenile through Senior levels. In 2022, she worked with the Junior National Champion for Argentina who went on to compete at a Junior Grand Prix event in Poland. Annette has coached skaters that tested from Pre-Preliminary through Senior Free Skate & Moves in the Field, Preliminary through International Ice Dance Partnered & Solo, Juvenile through Senior Solo Free Dance & Preliminary through 8th test Figures.

Misha is a Soviet and Russian National team member in singles and pairs. He is a Master of Sport of Soviet Union. Misha skated professionally for 20 years with "St Petersburg Ballet on Ice,” "Walt Disney's World on Ice," "Willy Bietak Productions," "Karen Kresge Productions" and "Rand Productions." He has coached beginner through senior level skaters and has had numerous skaters compete at the Regional and Sectional Championships.

Shelby skated competitively for The Michigan State University Synchronized Skating Team, The Ohio State University Synchronized Skating Team, and The Ohio State University Intercollegiate Skating Team. Shelby has been coaching in the Columbus area since 2010, teaching Learn to Skate, Synchronized Skating and private lessons. In this time, Shelby has worked with skaters from Basic Skills through Novice Moves, Pre-Juvenile Freeskate, and Silver Ice Dance. Since 2021, Shelby has coached skaters through 106 tests with 97 passing (92% passing rate). Shelby strives to make skating more inclusive for skaters of all backgrounds, and has experience working with skaters of various needs, gifts, and abilities. Shelby volunteered as a skating coach for the Special Olympics during the 2015-2016 season. More recently, Shelby was included in a feature for the August 2022 issue of Skating magazine for her choice to use gender-inclusive costuming for her synchronized skating team. Shelby graduated from The Ohio State University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Social Work and a minor in Human Development and Family Science. She has trained in The Neurosequential Model (NM) of Therapeutics and is currently completing training in NM-Sport for coaching. Shelby has completed coaching seminars at Mariposa, One Team Movement, and the 2019 Synchronized Skating Coaches College.

Alexie's accolades include being the recipient of the 2011 Ellin Jenkins Memorial Award; being honored by the Ohio Senate for exemplary achievement following the 2015 Eastern Great Lakes Regional Championships; Gold medal/ Senior ladies Champion 2016 Eastern Great Lakes Regional; Bronze medal Senior ladies 2016 Midwestern Sectional; Competitor in the Senior ladies 2016 United States National Championship. Alexie has trained under world renowned/respected coaches at the U.S. Olympic Training Site in Colorado Springs Colorado and while competing, worked as an assistant strength coach for skaters at the regional, sectional, and national level. Alexie is available and willing to teach skaters of all ages and abilities. She is also currently serving as the Skating School Manager and Learn to Play Program Manager at Chiller North. Alexie graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the Ohio University College of business in 2022.

Kim's coaching incorporates knowledge from her Master of Arts in dance (OSU 2017). She stays on the cutting edge of skating through continuous study and personal practice. She performed across Europe with Holiday On Ice's "Peter Pan on Ice" tour in the 2007-2008 season and currently skates with her husband Alex Ho.

Since 1995, Mary Anne Williamson has coached skaters from basic skills to the elite level in testing and competitions. With over 27 years of elite coaching experience, she has produced 6 Eastern Great Lake Regional Champions, 18 Eastern Great Lake Regional medalists, and the 2019 Midwestern Sectional Pewter Medalist. She has coached 21 skaters to Midwestern Sectionals, 2 Jr National Competitors and a US national competitor. Mary Anne has also taken 40 skaters through their gold level test. Mary Anne is a Level III nationally ranked coach through the Professional Skating Association and a master rated coach in Freestyle and Moves in the Field. She was a recipient of the 2020 PSA President’s Award of Excellence which recognizes exceptional grassroots coaches, in all disciplines, for their positive contributions to the sport of figure skating. Her personal accomplishments include a BA–Sports Science through Ohio University and is a double gold medalist in Freestyle and Moves in the Field through USFSA. She currently serves as the Area 9 Rep (Alabama, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, Ohio, Tennessee) for the PSA Area Representative Committee and is the Professional Rep to the Columbus Figure Skating Club Board of Directors.

While living in Texas, she was the Skating Director at America’s Ice Garden in Dallas and a full time skating instructor at Ice at the Parks Ice Rinks in Arlington, Texas. Megan competed on local synchronized skating teams for 12 years and then became a synchronized skating coach for 4 years.
